Didn’t want to wait for ambulance and wanted to drive to emergency room. 12:50 p.m. – Thai Basil, 1108 West St., Grinnell. Owner having a dispute with shipping truck driver. 2:14 p.m. – 610 Main St., Grinnell. Caller says ex husband has been shooting at boyfriends house. 2:42 p.m. – 197 mile marker, Interstate 80, Brooklyn. Report that occupants of a vehicle were fighting in the vehicle and pulled off the interstate and were at a stop sign. 3:03 p.m. – 615 Horseshoe Dr., Grinnell. Boyd’s Satellite, Grinnell. Front and door locks have been tampered with. Requesting extra patrol. 3:11 p.m. – 125 Brady, Brooklyn. Caller received a call from a friend stating daughter was screaming for help at boyfriends house. Poweshiek County sheriff’s arrested Richie Lathrop. 3:53 p.m. – 4912 Barnes City Road, Montezuma. Diamond Life. Ambulance requested for female patient reported semi conscious and very limp. Requested additional lifting manpower. 4:21 p.m. – Poweshiek County Sheriff’s office arrested Pedro Martinez Pesina on a Muscatine warrant. 4:21 p.m. – Central Park, Grinnell. Report of a missing 7-year-old male. Caller thought child was at Central Park. Child ultimately was located. 4:29 p.m. – An individual walked into the Grinnell Police Department and advised that her ex husband took money from a checking account. 4:30 p.m. – Possible theft report. 4:45 p.m. – 182 mile marker, Interstate 80, Grinnell. Grinnell police and Poweshiek County deputies assisted female (Grinnell College student) on bicycle on I-80. Grinnell police took her to Grinnell to a bike path. 4:51 p.m. – 610 Main St., Grinnell. Requesting an officer to come over. Caller found a ball bearing on sidewalk. 5:27 p.m. – 3256 Highway 66. Small brush fire getting away from owner. Call transferred to Tama County. 5:48 p.m. – 4323 Highway 146, Grinnell. Caller saw individual leave Montezuma High School for home driving a vehicle. Individual’s driver license is suspended. Officer located individual but did not see person on vehicle. Issued verbal warning. 6:55 p.m. – Caller says a student from Central College who should be home in Grinnell on spring break posted a disturbing note on Facebook. 7:26 p.m. – Individual wants his computer out of his vehicle. Contacted Grinnell Police Department and became belligerent and vulgar. Was asked to leave. 8:11 p.m. – An accident was reported by day care facility in Gilman. 8:54 p.m. – 1414 Hobart, Grinnell. Caller advised that a friend was pushing them around and took money and prescription drugs from him. Searching for individual. Subject left callers home before arrival of Grinnell police. Call from other party complaining of a person outside residence shining light into his property. 9:38 p.m. – 1510 1st Ave., No. 124, Grinnell. Individual reportedly shining a spot light on residence at trailer court and causing a disturbance. 9:42 p.m. – Report of a stolen 1989 white/blue Chevy Van, estimated stolen between 5 and 9:30 p.m. 10:32 p.m. – Report of two pickup trucks tearing up the gravel and dirt roads. 10:37 p.m. – 303 Clinton St., Brooklyn. Ambulance requested for male with ALS having trouble breathing.

Tuesday, March 15
2:07 a.m. – Caller advised that there was a fight between caller and brother. Caller is outside and brother is still in resident freaking out. 3:32 a.m. – Malcom First Responders requested for subject who fell in bathroom and needed assist in getting up. 7:48 a.m. – Grinnell Police Department, 1012 Spring St., Grinnell. Walk-in reported theft of prescription of Vicodin, $25 in cash, carton of cigarettes. 7:50 a.m. – 629 Highway 6, Grinnell. Caller lost his friend’s male black lab with collar. Name is Hobo. Has an 816 area code phone number on collar. 9:49 a.m. – 4200 32nd St., Grinnell. Report of smoke south of Grinnell. Investigated and it is a controlled burn. 12:03 p.m. – 1414 Hobart, Grinnell. Subject wanted to speak with an officer in reference to a theft. Subject was given options, became belligerent and disorderly. Was asked to leave or face arrest. 1:11 p.m. – 547 520th, Searsboro. Ambulance requested for a 76-year-old male with chest pains. 1:14 p.m. – 135th, Montezuma. Controlled burn reported five miles north of Montezuma on 135th. 3:52 p.m. – Poweshiek County Sheriff’s office arrested Shane Koontz for DWS. 4:20 p.m. – 431 11th Ave., Grinnell. Caller received threatening calls in reference to an argument over purchase of vehicle. 4:50 p.m. – Grinnell Police Department. Ex wife reported a male watching children after school with binoculars. Extra patrol sent. 5:11 p.m. – Caller advised there was a female on hands and knees in middle of street. Female was intoxicated. 6:01 p.m. – Grinnell police arrested Kirck McCurry on Poweshiek County warrant. 6:11 p.m. – 5685 E. 156th St., N., Grinnell. Report of a controlled fire. 7:52 p.m. – RC Industries. Advised that three pickups were racing in the parking lot at RC Industries. Advised them to find somewhere else. 7:55 p.m. – Cattle in ditch. Poweshiek County sheriff’s officer on scene. Animals returned to a lot and secured. 9:32 p.m. – 1105 470th, Montezuma. Ambulance requested for child that swallowed a nickel. Child is breathing. 10:14 p.m. – 701 Winter St., Brooklyn. Ambulance requested for 7-week-old child not breathing.

Wednesday, March 16
8:19 a.m. – Grinnell Regional Medical Center, 210 4th Ave., Grinnell. Two vehicle accident reported in hospital parking lot. 11:42 a.m. – 803 Broad St., Grinnell. Ambulance requested for possible stroke victim. 11:47 a.m. – 610 Main St., Grinnell. Riding motorcycle up and down Main St., revving up the motor. 1:06 p.m. – 191 mile marker, Malcom, (Interstate 80). Caller advised a semi ran through some construction barricades. 1:20 p.m. – Friendship Manor, 79 6th Ave., Grinnell. All premises alarm reported. 2:13 p.m. – 219 E. 2nd St., Brooklyn. Needs report of some stuff stolen out of a shed. 2:18 p.m. – Advised male chasing kids with a bat and had struck one of them. 2:52 p.m. – Searsboro Manor, Ambulance requested for elderly female who fell and has shoulder pain. 2:56 p.m. – 6087 Capitol Dr., Brooklyn. Caller advised they received a bad check for an item sold on Ebay. 3:37 p.m. – 302 High St., Searsboro, Grass fire in ditch. 3:40 p.m. – Caller needed a report on a stolen D/L. Advised that he thinks he actually lost the D/L and has already received a new one. 3:42 p.m. – 11th Ave., Grinnell. Report of a possible intoxicated driver. 4:02 p.m. – 1221 Prince, Grinnell. Advised that a dark brown Thunderbird with light brown top was doing burnouts by Bailey Park. 4:11 p.m. – 154 Walnut Rd., Grinnell Fire Department called for grass fire getting near out buildings. 4:30 p.m. – Caller advised some kids dumped some scrap iron off trailer and left it lay on road at 280th and 440th. 5:55 p.m. – 417 Washington Ave., Grinnell. Caller stated a male subject had made threats towards him. Officer spoke with both parties. 6:28 p.m. – Grass fire in ditch. Alliant was on scene and would handle. 6:53 p.m. – Intoxicated male. Will stay at residence. Sleeping it off. 6:56 p.m. – Wal-Mart, Grinnell. Caller advised ex husband not going to bring kids to Wal-Mart to drop off. No report taken. 8:35 p.m. – Highway 63, Montezuma. Caller stated she is the mother of a 14-year-old son who sent a text to her and said father was threatening to punch him. 8:57 p.m. – 1231 Spring St., Grinnell. Caller would like to speak to an officer about her son being harassed by another juvenile. 10:35 p.m. – 223 4th Av., W., Grinnell. Fire alarm tripped by food left on stove. Caller unable to turn off alarm. 10:56 p.m. – 608 10th Ave., Grinnell. Caller has bat in house and requesting officer. 11:54 p.m. – Presbyterian Church. Male noted walking into Family Center; while checking building, door noted ajar. Owner secured door; male checked out.

Thursday, March 17
5:30 a.m. – Caller noted a semi on road and stopped and asked driver if they needed assistance. Truck stuck on soft shoulder and is waiting for tow. 6:13 a.m. – 605 State St., Grinnell. Ambulance requested for male having chest pains. 10:31 a.m. – Ambulance requested for elderly female who has fallen and possibly been there all night. 11:14 a.m. – Iowa Valley Community College. Ambulance requested for student having a seizure. 11:42 a.m. – 711 East St., Grinnell. Caller has found bottle rockets all around his vehicles and home. 2:18 p.m. – Grinnell Historical Building. Hold up alarm. Workers working on alarm system. 2:47 p.m. – Central Park, Grinnell. Report of damage to the Gazebo in Central Park. 2:50 p.m. – 460th 90th Montezuma. Report of a ditch fire. 3:55 p.m. – Report of a school bus all over the road. Talked with bus driver and everything is OK. 4:47 p.m. – Kum and Go, 106 W. 2nd, Brooklyn. Caller reporting that three males appeared to be drinking in vehicle. Beer can fell out of vehicle when door was opened. 5:06 p.m. – 417 Washington, Grinnell. Caller had a dispute with female neighbor last night. Parties were separated. Tonight, female and her ex-husband are harassing. 5:30 p.m. – 1508 5th Ave., Grinnell. Report of a bicycle being stolen from porch. 5:32 p.m. – Spencer and 8th, Grinnell. Caller reports kids around the age of 13 are playing the road and pretend to fall into cars. Has happened every day this week. Caller worried they’ll actually get hit. 6:04 p.m. – Davis Elementary. Report of teenagers hanging off basketball hoops and destroying property at Davis playground. 6:07 p.m. – Caller state neighbor continues to knock on her door. Advised that if knocking continues to call and officer will respond. 6:55 p.m. – Arbor Apartments, 401 Washington Ave., Grinnell. Report of loud music in an unspecified apartment. Elderly woman in apartment had hearing aids out. Television was turned up. 7:14 p.m. – 5th and West, Grinnell. Ambulance requested for a female who jumped out of a vehicle. Badly injured. Possible domestic. 7:31 p.m. – 1031 Elm St., Grinnell. Female caller requesting extra patrol. Feels unsafe. Said they had called earlier. Dispute with relative. 8:38 p.m. – Hy-Vee, 320 West St., South, Grinnell. Caller noted several teens in vehicle in the parking lot. Have been there some time. Looked suspicious. Car is no longer there. 9:02 p.m. – 603 E. Clark St., 32, Montezuma. Ambulance requested for 72-year-old woman with a bloody nose that will not stop. 10:54 p.m. – Report of a railroad malfunction at cross on Spring between blocks 3rd and 4th.

Friday, March 18
12:34 a.m. – 820 Industrial, Grinnell. Possible intoxicated individual. 6:38 a.m. – 1414 Hobart, Grinnell. Caller believes someone is in the house and that they are being stalked. 10:11 a.m. – 176 Valley Rd., Montezuma. Caller reports neighbor’s sign stolen from yard last night. 10:23 a.m. – Controlled burn reported. 10:55 a.m. – 210 4th Ave.,Grinnell. Ambulance requested by Grinnell Regional Medical Center for transfer of subject from GRMC to Des Moines. 12:08 p.m. – Highway 146, Grinnell. Grinnell police arrested Jeffrey Lee Bradley. 12:13 p.m. – Highway 146, Grinnell. Grinnell police arrested Christopher William Tish. 1:40 p.m. – Caller advised he received a text from his brother stating he was going to report his truck stolen by the caller. Caller stated that the vehicle is located at his residence and was used by him the last two months with his brothers’ consent. 1:34 p.m. – 172 Valley Rd., Montezuma. Report of a theft of a riding lawn mower. 2:01 p.m. – Grinnell Mutual. Caller received an obscene phone call. Would like an officer to contact her. 1:52 p.m. – 1997 Highway T 38, Grinnell. Brush fire reported one mile south of Interstate 80. 4:40 p.m. – 916 1/2 Main St., Grinnell. Stone reported falling from building onto sidewalk. Building inspected and sidewalk and parking in front of building blocked until further inspection.
4:51 p.m. – 1020 Spring St., Grinnell. Walk-in with a domestic dispute, had questions and concerns. Grinnell police subsequently arrested an individual for public intoxication when met at residence. 5 p.m. – Caller requested an officer to meet him at residence while he moves his belongs out. Subject feels threatened by person he lived with at the residence. 5:13 p.m. – Credit card was found in Arbor Lake Park and taken to Grinnell Police Department. Card’s owner was found and card returned. 5:34 p.m. – Caller on 430th St., Grinnell, reported that 9-year-old daughter answered the pone and man on other end asked her sexually explicit questions. Asked for options. 5:45 p.m. – 2122 470th Ave., Deep River. Report of a controlled burn. 7:09 p.m. – Smith Funeral Home. Two-vehicle accident. No injuries. 7:19 p.m. – 9th Penrose, Grinnell. Caller said a man was sitting in a vehicle watching kids playing at Ahrens Park. Man is visiting/staying at one of the neighbors in the area. 8:42 p.m. – 119 Brady St., Brooklyn. Advised there are barking dogs annoying the neighbors. Contacted owner of dogs. 10:14 p.m. – Report of a commercial bus with smoke coming out of the back end of the bus. Alerted Victor Fire Department. 10:47 p.m. – Caller was unable to contact daughter. Someone was messing with phone when tries to pbx her. Made contact with daughter and she is calling her dad. 11:09 p.m. – Caller was concerned about smoke coming from south/west area by Grinnell airport. Caller was advised there were controlled burns in the area.

Saturday, March 19
1:22 a.m. – Sleep Inn, Grinnell. Domestic dispute in parking lot. Verbally fighting. Escalating. No weapons involved. 7:12 a.m. – BeeBee Hall, Mayflower. Report of smoking vehicle in front of building. 7:19 a.m. – Ahrens Center, Penrose, Grinnell. Report of smoke at Ahrens Center. Malicious false. 7:30 a.m. – 1414 Hobart, Grinnell. Ambulance requested form male who has fallen and can’t get up. Ambulance refusal. 9:05 a.m. – 2223 540th Ave., Grinnell. Controlled burn reported. 9:09 a.m. – Walk-in. Individual turning in cell phone that was found. Owner came to office to retrieve phone. 9:23 a.m. – Controlled burn at 430th and 190th streets. 12:02 p.m. – 2314 T38 St., Jasper County. Large grass fire reported. 1:27 p.m. – 2223 540th Ave., Grinnell. Controlled burn reported. 1:31 p.m. – 2267 Highway 6, Hartwick. Unoccupied structure fire reported. Controlled. 1:59 p.m. – Report of a ditch fire by road. 2:13 p.m. – Reporting information received from a caller regarding a 1999 investigation. 3:01 p.m. – Wal-Mart. Request to meet with officer in parking lot. Served no trespass order to subject. 6:30 p.m. – 1414 Hobart, Grinnell. Needed subject to sign no trespass order. 6:58 p.m. – 749 400th Grinnell, Domestic. Husband reportedly following caller in vehicles. 9:11 p.m. – Ambulance requested for lady unable to get on hands and knees and needs help. Call delayed because wrong city was listed. 9:44 p.m. – Party bus parked at bottom of hill. Subjects out drinking on roadway and a couple of the people will not get out of the way. 9:48 p.m. – 402 Church St., Deep River. Intoxicated male reported at residence. Has been physical between son and the male and his mom and the male. Apparently, step dad tried to step in when son was arguing with mom. Son went to stay with friend for the night. 10:21 p.m. – Holiday Lake Spirits. Loud music from bar near the residence. Officer advised that they could hear a lot of base at the residence. Advised it was loud enough you had to yell to hear over it. Advised to turn it down and that it would be over by midnight. Spoke with both owners and bartender. 10:13 p.m. – Caller reports male in vehicle in front of residence, shining light at window. Subject is not supposed to be there. 11:05 p.m. – Caller advised that subject punched him and threatened him with a knife. Grinnell police arrested subject for public intoxication and assault. 11:42 p.m. – Another noise complaint from the bar at Holiday Lake. Advised caller that the deputies were just there and they were going to turn the music down and shut down at midnight. Caller didn’t like the idea. Informed caller that a deputy would call her. 11:54 p.m. – 516 3rd Ave., Grinnell. Domestic. Advised that the dispute was believed to be only verbal but female threatened to harm herself. Male dialed 911 then hung up. Family member from Newton is coming to pick up the female and kids for the night.

Sunday, March 20
1:14 a.m. – 516 3rd Ave., Grinnell. Welfare check on resident. Out-of-state relative advised that individual might be despondent. Advised caller individual was intoxicated and did not want to go to the hospital. 2:18 a.m. – 5012 N. Lakeshore Dr., Brooklyn. Report of a vehicle that struck a frontage wall, ran over a tree and damaged an ornamental rock. 2:39 a.m. – 516 3rd Ave., Grinnell. Caller advised that three subjects had just come over and shoved him around and then left. Officer advised report was not credible. 3:44 a.m. – 516 3rd Ave., Grinnell. Subject is threatening suicide, again. Third time tonight. Subject is very intoxicated. Family taking subject to the emergency room for evaluation. 8:33 a.m. – Highway 146. Report that railroad crossing arms between 3rd and 4th streets are down. No trains are coming. Cross arms finally reset themselves. 8:39 a.m. – Grinnell College. Report of a bicycle in roadway. Contact Grinnell College security to remove bicycle. 9:09 a.m. – 192 Mile Marker, Montezuma. Vehicle reported in ditch. Disregard no injuries. 10:17 a.m. – Report of an individual driving with suspended license. Reportedly driving with children in vehicle. 11:49 a.m. – 1016 Center, Brooklyn. Ambulance requested for Lifeline call. Female cannot get up. History of heart attacks. Subject has stint. Son on scene, door unlocked. Subject is conscious and awake. Taken to Marengo Hospital. 2:22 p.m. – Marina, 199 Marina Dr., Brooklyn. Complaint of group of people drinking outside at the marina. No group was drinking outside, were advised they can’t drink outside. Were also advised that next time the State Alcohol Division would be contacted. 2:36 a.m. – 603 E. Clark St., 32, Montezuma. Ambulance requested for 71-year-old female having difficulty breathing. 4:28 p.m. – Kwik Star, Brooklyn, Truck driver spending the night was at truck stop and taking pictures of an abandoned building. Found carcass of decapitated dog wrapped in carpeting. Said it appeared to have happened not long ago. 5:17 p.m. – 191 Mile Marker, Malcom. Multiple calls. Six vehicle accident reported. No injuries. 5:13 p.m. – 603 Reed St., Grinnell. Ambulance requested for female passed out on the floor. Subject did come around. 5:27 p.m. – Central Park, Grinnell. Report of kids playing loud music. Police advised to turn music off and to play football in park, not the street. 6:18 p.m. – One mile south of Tama/Poweshiek county line. Control burn reported. 6:35 p.m. – 1404 West St., Grinnell. Ambulance requested for caller who injured his knee. 11:15 p.m. – Holiday Lake. Ambulance requested for 53-year-old female with chest pains.

Monday, March 21
3:40 a.m. – 502 Clay St., Malcom. Malcom Fire Department First Responders. Request ambulance for elderly male who is sick and needs to go to the hospital.
