Mother there to pick up child and she isn’t supposed to be there until 4 p.m. Mother left with child. Officer spoke to reporting party and also to the wife. 9:25 a.m. – 403 16th Ave., Grinnell. Caller reports items stolen from vehicle. 10:43 a.m. – Montezuma Medical, 101 W. Washington St., Montezuma. Ambulance requested for 85-year-od female with low oxygen. 11:41 a.m. – 4027 210th St., Brooklyn. Caller wanted a deer tag. 12:58 p.m. – Main, New Sharon. Caller is the New Sharon officer and they would like to speak with a Grinnell officer in regards to a forgery that happened in Grinnell. 1:30 p.m. – 910 390th Ave., Malcom. Caller advised car in ditch just east of residence. 1:58 p.m. – 1020 Reed, Grinnell. Caller stated that on two occasions this past weekend unknown subjects threw beer bottles over the fence from the 9th Hole and broke on her patio. 3:43 p.m. – 3rd and East St., Grinnell. Caller reported a black truck passed her at a high rate of speed in a school zone. 3:49 p.m. – 1125 Ann St., Grinnell. Caller reported a bicycle was left in their yard. 4:15 p.m. – Grinnell Regional Medical Center, 210 4th St., Grinnell. Report of a lost bike on property. 5:37 p.m. – Michael’s Restaurant, 720 5th Ave., Grinnell. Caller reports GPS was stolen from vehicle sometime previous evening. 8:36 a.m. – BGM, 1090 Jackson St., Brooklyn. Report of an accident by school. 9:14 a.m. – Montezuma. Report of a dog in area going through trash. 9:43 a.m. – Malcom. Would like to speak with a deputy regarding harassment. 9:43 a.m. – Grinnell. Caller had an iPod and iPod player taken from vehicle previous evening. 10:47 a.m. – Grinnell. Subjects are harassing female and her daughter. 12:29 p.m. – Grinnell. Individual would like to speak with an officer in reference to horses that are on his property. 12:50 p.m. – Deep River. Report of a grass fire. 12:59 p.m. – Grinnell. Caller would like officer to advise daughter that they have money at Western Union. 1:24 p.m. – Grinnell. Reporting lights are out. Also noticed that lights are out at O’Rielly’s. 2:54 p.m. – Malcom. Motion burglary alarm. ADT called in. Residential alarm. No problems at residence. 4:06 p.m. – Grinnell. Ambulance requested for 97-year-old male who fell in morning and now slowly moving around. 4:53 p.m. – Montezuma. Deer reported in fence. Would like a tag. 5:57 p.m. – Malcom. Brush fire/controlled burn. 6:48 p.m. – Grinnell. Ambulance requested for male who is having seizure. 7:21 p.m. – Grinnell. Caller requesting officer to go with her to retrieve property. 8:48 p.m. – Brooklyn. Fire alarm reported at school. Janitor advised everything is OK. 9:23 p.m. – Grinnell. Report of a gas drive off.

Wednesday, January 11
3:30 a.m. – Brooklyn. Ambulance requested for female who fell. Has a laceration on her forehead and stating she cannot move her right hip. 9:49 a.m. – U.S. Highway 146, Grinnell. Report of a theft of money and possible break-in of a home. 11:01 a.m. – Jasper County. Report of a possible illegal burn. Subject was burning tires and was advised of law. 11:09 a.m. – 420 Ave., Guernsey. Caller found an empty change-making machine south of Pine Cone Restaurant. 12:56 p.m. – Searsboro. Searsboro Fire Department responded to a grass fire. 1:55 p.m. – Industrial Ave., Grinnell. Wal-Mart. Caller says they hit a pole when avoiding another vehicle. 2:05 p.m. – Victor. Reporting a change machine in ditch. 2:22 p.m. – Spring St., Grinnell. Grinnell police arrested Sarah Susana Sanchez on a warrant. 2:35 p.m. – 4802 Barnes City Rd., Montezuma. Caller discussed possible child endangerment case. 4:07 p.m. – Broad St., Grinnell. Report of a two-car accident. 6:27 p.m. – Spring St., Grinnell. Grinnell police arrested Quinton Lemke for serious assault. 6:31 p.m. – Ewart Rd., Grinnell. Two males reported harassing via text and phone. 7:10 p.m. – State St., Grinnell. Caller reported that a person threw him out of the apartment so that they could have sex with an 18-year-old. Reporter is walking with girlfriend to the downtown area and would like to speak with officer or will go back to apartment and assault the 18-year-old. Reporter called back to state that 18-year-old left the apartment. 7:20 p.m. – Brooklyn. Caller had children issues. Deputy gave options. 7:42 p.m. – Barnes City, Rd., Montezuma. Ambulance requested for 58-year-old male having chest pains for approximately half an hour. 9:29 p.m. – Casey’s, 409 N. Front St., Montezuma. Motorist locked keys in car with motor running. 10:16 p.m. – 4th Ave., Grinnell. Caller reports car alarm going off on nightly basis. Property manager would like officer to come out. Officer went to property but could not locate manager. Left message for property owner – private parking and Grinnell police unable to initiate tow. 10:36 p.m. – Diamond Lake, Montezuma. Callers car in ditch after swerving to miss another vehicle. Caller believes car is totaled. 10:53 p.m. – Diamond Lake East, U.S. Highway 63, Montezuma. Report of two-cars in ditch. 11:18 p.m. – 1031 Chatterton, Grinnell. Looking for female in regards to accident on U.S. Highway 63 near Diamone Lake. Officer was told she lives in upstairs portion, but no one would come to the door. 11:21 p.m. – 4th Ave., Grinnell. Reported that car alarm is going off again. 11:36 p.m. – 4th Ave., W., Grinnell. Received a number of complaints regarding car alarm.

Thursday, January 12
4:53 a.m. – Public Safety Building, 1020 Spring St., Grinnell. Individual spoke with officer regarding male following reporter’s wife to work. 6:18 a.m. – Main, Grinnell. Report of a front door missing glass. 6:38 a.m. – T-38, near Grinnell. Grinnell Fire Department and Midwest Ambulance responded to a report of a car that rolled into ditch just east of intersection. Unknown injuries. Reporter called back and stated he talked with driver and the car is demolished but driver is refusing treatment. 7:08 a.m. – Stagecoach and U.S. Highway 63, Montezuma. Report of a vehicle in ditch. Vehicle had already been reported previous evening. 7:22 a.m. – Grinnell. Cars parked on streets — snow ordinance. Officers wrote tickets. 7:25 a.m. – Block, Main. Grinnell. Grinnell Fire Department responded to a report of a flag on fire. Unable to locate. 8:12 a.m. – U.S. Highway 63 and Stagecoach, Montezuma. Bus driver reporting vehicle in ditch. Already been checked. 9:28 a.m. – Penrose, Grinnell. Mediacom van reported parked in no parking area. Individual was working on pole and is now clear. Reporter called back and had more questions. Officer advised all was OK. Supervisor was there and nothing out of the ordinary was happening. 9:44 a.m. – 4th Ave., Grinnell. Caller advised that they have not had any more instances with the shooting she has called about. Officers don’t need to patrol area anymore. 10:12 a.m. – 1020 Spring St., Grinnell. Grinnell police arrested Timothy John Kessler, Theft in 3rd. 10:14 a.m. – 6th and Grinnell. Poweshiek County Sheriff deputies arrested Robert Denner William for FTA Warrant. 10:59 a.m. – Grinnell Community, 4th Ave., Grinnell. Caller says father took his car keys so he can’t drive and the car is registered to caller. Car is parked in front of community center. Advised is was a civil matter. Caller is 17-years-old and still lives at home. 11:20 a.m. – S. 4th St., Montezuma. Caller is moving and has not given landlord notice nor has the landlord evicted caller. But when caller went to address in question for a second load, the landlord was in the house and is threatening to lock him out. Is this legal? 12:20 p.m. – East St., Grinnell. Ambulance requested for a unresponsive 77-year-old male. 2:04 p.m. – Brooklyn Medical, Jackson St., Brooklyn. Ambulance requested for subject who needs transport. 2:57 p.m. – Spring St., Grinnell. Caller received phone call from Office Max advising several hundred dollars had been purchased from his check card. Officer spoke on phone and all charges on check card will be removed by Office Max and card has been cancelled. 3:32 p.m. – Broad, Grinnell. Report of an accident. 3:49 p.m. – Peppertree, 3rd Ave., Grinnell. Reported that a former employee is making statements about owners and business. Caller has asked subject to stop. Officer checked faxes and Facebook. Not harassment or threats. Just comments. Advised this was a civil matter. 3:57 p.m. – 1020 Spring St., Grinnell. Caller spoke to officer in reference to harassment. 4:07 p.m. – 3rd Ave., Grinnell. Caller wants to take 17-year-old son’s car away. Officer gave options. 6 p.m. – N. Front St., Montezuma. Report of pipes frozen and snow coming in under door. No hot water and they have a 4-month-old baby. Landlor will not come. Says if caller had called an hour ago he may have been able to get there. Caller wants to know what they can do about the landlord. Suggested a motel room and said could call ministerial group. Caller refused. Civil matter. 6:38 p.m. – Brookhaven Nursing, Brooklyn. Ambulance requested for 84-year-old male who needs transport. 7:21 p.m. – Public Safety Building, Grinnell. Reporter called previous evening regarding aunt. Will be at lobby to talk to with officer. Reporter did not show up. 8:12 p.m. – 120th St., Malcom. Reporter says husband was served papers today by 3 p.m. He is not to come on property. He has the key to the shop, which houses animals. She is wondering if deputies can get the key or have him drop it off? Advised changing the lock. 10:31 p.m. – Bill’s Jewelry, 903 Main St., Grinnell. Commercial burglary alarm. Everything seems secure.

Friday, January 13
12:06 a.m. – Grinnell Family Care, 217 W. 4th Ave., Grinnell. Commercial burglary alarm detected. Checked building. No signs of damage. 1:39 a.m. – Kum and Go North, 1002 West St., Grinnell. Caller is helping an intoxicated person who can not get into his apartments and would like some assistance. 1:58 a.m. – Strand Theatre, Grinnell. Vehicle of manager of Strand will be in street for some time while he works. 5:31 a.m. – 612 Prairie St., Grinnell. Vehicle reported missing upon waking. Vehicle possibly a repossession. 7:44 a.m. – 5th and Reed, Grinnell. Two-vehicle accident reported. 10:25 a.m. – 413 320th Ave., Grnnell. DHS child abuse investigation. 1:31 p.m. – Grinnell Christian Church, Grinnell. Report of broken glass. 2:34 p.m. – 403 Park St., Grinnell. Caller now reports she had damage to her vehicle from an accident reported earlier in day. 3:41 p.m. – 1617 Davis Ave., C11, Grinnell. Ambulance requested for mother who is not feeling well. 5:09 p.m. – 207 State St., Harwick. Caller reports mother has stolen some stuff out of her house while she was gone. 8:48 p.m. – 1031 West St., Grinnell. Report of a minor read-end collision. 11:52 p.m. – Malcom. Report of a vehicle in a ditch. Deputies made an arrest.

Saturday, January 14
12:26 a.m. – 4300 Highway 63, Grinnell. Transient assist. Male walking south on U.S. Highway 63. 12:49 a.m. – Rabbits, 721 4th Ave., Grinnell. Grinnell police arrested an individual for interference with official acts. 1:51 a.m. – 410 Washington Ave., 15, Grinnell. Arbor Lake Trailer Court, 410 Wasington Ave., Grinnell. Grinnell Fire Department responded to a structure fire. Reported that there are four possible occupants. 9:05 a.m. – 711 7th Ave., Grinnell. Welfare Check. Caller wanted to speak with deputy reference information about some tenants. 10:05 a.m. – 608 N. Clay St., Brooklyn. Report of a truck up on curb and by pole. Deputy advised truck had hit a tree. 11:49 a.m. – Grinnell College, 1149 Park St., Grinnell. Caller reports a truck had its window broken out. Officer advised vehicle was in parking lot of Cowles Hall and back window was shot out with a BB gun. 12:30 p.m. – 433 Main St., Grinnell. Ambulance requested. 2:33 p.m. – 201 380th Ave., Grinnell. Report of an alarm going off. 5:14 p.m. – 204 mile marker, Interstate 80 near Brooklyn. Report that a small car had hit back end of semi but didn’t know it and kept going. 6:32 p.m. – 404 N. Orchard, Brooklyn. Brooklyn Fire Department responded to a house fire. Malcom and Victor fire departments responded to request for additional manpower. 7:07 p.m. – Grinnell Public Safety Building, 1020 Spring, Grinnell. Male looking for sunglasses. Ray-Ban Aviator style. 7:41 p.m. – Kum and Go North, West St., Grinnell. Grinnell police made an arrest.

Sunday, January 15
1:50 a.m. – 165 Valley Rd., Montezuma. Caller reports smell of smoke, but nothing on fire. No electricity on site. Montezuma Fire Department responded but no fire found. 3:02 a.m. – Comfort Inn, 1630 S. West St., 214, Grinnell. Report of a room of kids, appear to be underage and drinking. Has asked them to be quiet several times. Grinnell police initiated an arrest. 7:52 a.m. – 601 E. Clark, 26, Montezuma. Report of harassment. Deputy spoke with caller and the person that was harassing him has been deceased for some time. 10:35 a.m. – 522 West St., Grinnell. Caller’s pickup window has been broken out sometime during the previous evening. 12:04 p.m. – 142 N. Shore Dr., Lake Ozark, Mo. Caller needed some information regarding house fire. Grinnell police officer spoke with caller and advised to make arrangements with a family member. 2:26 p.m. – Grinnell Public Safety Building, 1020 Spring St., Grinnell. Caller has a stray dog — chow mix. Brown and black mix. Picked up around 2nd Mile. Took to North Side Vet. 2:46 p.m. – 412 3rd Ave., Grinnell. Report of a person in their car driving with alcohol. 3:24 p.m. – 1020 Spring St., Grinnell. Grinnell police arrested Sonja Grandstaff for driving while barred. 4:08 p.m. – 520 N. Front St., 1, Montezuma. Reporter calling in regards to dogs barking. Stated that her dogs will not go out because the dogs are barking real loud. Deputy was unable to locate barking dogs. 5:15 p.m. – 5185 40th St., Searsboro. Ambulance requested for 90-year-old who is weak and can’t get out of his chair. 7:18 p.m. – 206 N. 4th, St., Montezuma. Caller reports assaulted by male when caller yelled at him for dating underage daughter. Male in driveway fighting with someone still. Investigation continues. 8:31 p.m. – 410 Meadowlane, Dr., Montezuma. Deputy initiated an arrested. Vehicle reported driving on caller’s yard.

Monday, January 16
12:38 a.m. – Woodland Rd., Montezuma. Dispute. Husband threatening wife. Reporter states he is not valid to drive. Female taken to Grinnell Regional Medical Center. 12:40 a.m. – Grinnell Sporting. 1020 Main St., Grinnell. Criminal mischief reported. Officer found open door. Officer contacted possible key holder. 1:03 a.m. – Woodland Rd., Montezuma. Female assaulted previously now has knife, threatening to kill herself. Children are still at home.
