A North English woman was possibly injured in a single vehicle accident that occurred on M Avenue Jan. 23.
According to the accident report by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 9:08 a.m., Ruth Ada Sauter, 85, was northbound on M Avenue when she lost control of her vehicle due to the ice-covered road. Sauter’s vehicle entered the west ditch and struck the ditch embankment.
Sauter was transported to Marengo Memorial Hospital for possible injuries.
The 2009 Toyota Matrix operated by Sauter sustained approximately $1,500 in damage.
Jan. 11 — A single vehicle accident occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m., on 305th Street between S Avenue and TT Avenue.
According to the accident report, Raymond Britten, 97, Parnell, was backing up on 305th Street when he struck a parked vehicle occupied by Derek W. Stork, 26, Blair, Neb.
The 2007 Chevy Equinox operated by Stork and owned by RAHCO sustained approximately $2,000 in damage.
The 2003 GMC Sierra pick-up operated by Britten sustained approximately $200 in damage.
Jan. 13 — A single vehicle accident occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Highway 6.
According to the accident report, Sarah Jane Degen, 40, Williamsburg, was eastbound on Highway 6 when she saw a calf standing in the eastbound lane. Degen swerved to avoid striking the calf and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle entered the north ditch and struck a mail box.
The 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix operated by Degen sustained approximately $4,000 in damage.
The mail box, owned by William Ginkins, Marengo, sustained approximately $100 in damage.
Jan. 16 — A single vehicle accident occurred 9:20 p.m., in the 200 block of 7th Street.
According to the accident report, Matthew James Merical, 18, Victor was westbound on 7th Street when he struck a legally parked vehicle that was facing west.
The parked vehicle, a 1995 Chevy Camaro belonging to Zachary Keith Beatty, Victor, sustained approximately $3,000 in damage.
The 1997 Chevy Blazer operated by Merical sustained approximately $2,000 in damage.

Dec. 27, 2011 —Stephenie Ashley Nicole Peska, 21, Marengo, struck a deer at approximately 8:10 p.m.
The 2004 Pontiac Bonneville operated by Peska sustained approximately $2,624 in damage.
