Jumpin’ Jimmy’s Bar & Grill is rock-n-rolling

The new and improved Jumpin’ Jimmy’s Bar & Grill at Lake Ponderosa is now open for business – just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.

18-foot lighted bar and wet your whistle.

“The bar features LED lights that light up for a very cool look,” Knoblauch said.

Located at 199 Marina Drive, renovations were completed in late April.

Knoblauch said he decided to redo the restaurant so he could stay open year round.

“We needed more indoor seating,” he said of the remodeling project.

This is the third major transformation the business has undergone since Knoblauch purchased the marina building in 2006. He first opened in April 2007.

“And it’s the last,” he said.

The restaurant now has seating indoors and outdoors for 135 with the outdoor area overlooking the lake. The bar seats 12.

restaurant design. “Matt was one of the most patient persons. As a contractor, he was amazing.”

Tom Breeze of Breeze Electric in Montezuma handled the wiring duties and Merle Fizer did the Sheetrock work and stained the bar top to a glassy sheen.

The restaurant features four televisions inside and two outside.

The menu features pizza, a variety of burgers, including the Jumpin’ Jimmy’s special, which Knoblauch says is a favorite. There are chicken sandwiches, salads and Pepsi products, as well as a kids’ menu loaded with tasty treats for the little ones.

“The bar offers a wide assortment of drinks and spirits,” Petersen said.

Jumpin’ Jimmy’s is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; and Sundays, 11 a.m. – 5p.m. The business is closed on Mondays, but will be open on Memorial Day.

The bar will remain open after the kitchen closes as nessessary.

Live Music

Jumpin’ Jimmy’s is hosting several local acts on Saturdays in the coming weeks. All shows start at 9 p.m.

Knoblauch said he and the staff at Jumpin’ Jimmy’s pride themselves in offering good food, good drinks and good service.

“Stop by and enjoy a signature drink at the bar,” Knoblauch said. “We only have them, nobody else does. And enjoy your dinner or supper with a lake view.”

The Lake Ponderosa Marina is once again back in business,

It is now open in the former garage area of the building.

Knoblauch said the marina carries a full-line of tackle, fishing gear and live bait, including minnows.

There’s LP for the grill and gas for boats, pontoons and ATVs.

“When you fill your tank at Lake Ponderosa Marina, you get a free beer,” Knoblauch said.

The gas pump, which is located near the water, has the pay-at-the-pump option or customers can also pay in the marina.

There are boating accessories, oil for jet skis, marine batteries for boats and jet skis and spark plugs. There are plenty of convenience store items such as ice, candy bars, ice cream, soda pop, chips and even flashlight batteries and cleaning supplies on hand.

The marina has a full-line of T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and ponchos available.

And of course, beer by the case is available to go.

The Marina is open daily 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
